At the meeting, each attendee shared with the group the assessment of the current situation, relevant facts and expectations for the near future. They also discussed the global situation of steel production in Europe in the face of Chinese competition, in aspects such as fair competition, quality and reliability of the European product, the European product brand, etc.
In addition to the working meeting, we were able to enjoy a guided tour of the old part of Vitoria-Gasteiz, visit the restoration works of the Old Cathedral and enjoy an excellent dinner at the Portalón restaurant.
During the second day we visited the Castmetal Vitoria foundry, located in the Industrial Park of Júndiz (Vitoria-Gasteiz).
CAEF (The European Foundry Association), created in 1953, is the umbrella organization of the European Foundry Industry. Its members include foundry associations from more than 20 European countries.
We would like to thank and congratulate the organizers for a very interesting conference for the sector as well as for the pleasant visit to the city.
